Exciting projects from leading interior designers

Students from the full-time Interior Design Diploma course worked on a project for top design team Candy & Candy. The project was based on Home House Private Club, which is situated in a Grade 1 and 2 listed building designed by Robert Adam and James Wyatt in the 1770s.
The students where asked to create a complete design solution and decorative scheme for the Entrance Hall, House Bar, Reception Room and Staircase.
Candy & Candy are recognised internationally as a pioneer of bespoke and innovative design, creating sumptuous homes in some of the world’s most coveted locations, as well as designing yachts, jets, luxury cars and a wide range of commercial environments including offices, restaurants and hotels. As part of the overall assessment, the students had to present their designs to representatives of Candy & Candy.
As part of this project, celebrated designer Nina Campbell commissioned the students to create a design for a range of decorative lighting including wall, table and floor lamps.
Max Konig, Director at Nina Campbell said:
“I was very impressed with quality of design that the KLC students presented for their final project. Not only did they have inspiring design ideas but their understanding of practicality and commercial design was very good. The whole experience was hugely enjoyable and I look forward to working with the winner.”
The standard of design was so high that the judges found it hard to choose an overall winner so the award is shared between Audrey Renwick for her enchanting apple designs and Nicola Stark whose designs were described as chic, elegant and practical.
Nina Campbell was so impressed with the winning lighting designs that she is going to put them into production ready to be launched at the 2011 Decorex Fair
