KLC Award Ceremony held at the RIBA

For the second consecutive year we held our Awards Ceremony at the prestigious RIBA Headquarters in Portland Place.  We were very honoured to have the RIBA’s President, Ruth Reed, to present the annual RIBA award.

This year was our first year to include graduating students from our Blended Learning Diploma, who picked up their share of many well deserved awards alongside the graduating students from the Full-Time Diploma.  Our Special Guest Speaker, David Keech, presented the graduates with their diplomas and all were praised for their hard work and congratulated by top designers such as Nina Campbell, Mary Fox Linton, Sue Timney, Zimmer & Rohde, Colefax & Fowler, Cole, & Son, Gordon Lindsay, and Mat Carlisle of Candy & Candy.  Paul Broadley presented the BIID Award, offering invaluable advice to those graduating from his own experience as an ex-KLC student.  The Lighting Design Industry was well represented by Sally Storey of Lighting Design and Rebecca Weir of LightIQ.  It was a glorious summer’s evening so we were able to continue our celebrations while enjoying the cool of the Florence Room roof terrace, recently designed by Dan Pearson Studio.
