Master Class

For a second year we were delighted to welcome a group of Russian designers and Architects from the Details School of Design in Moscow. The aim of this week-long course was to re visit basic design principles and creative approaches and experience British design at its best. The course was planned around the dates of Decorex, 100% Design and Focus so that delegates could take advantage of these prime exhibitions during their stay.

A creative project was set to develop a concept and sketch ideas for the re-design of a London Hotel, talks on the latest technology and contract fabrics were laid on as well as encouraging the delegates to visit various hotels, restaurants and shops for inspiration.

The week was rounded off with an active studio session followed by the students presenting their ideas to the group. It was a happy and inspiring week when everyone had the opportunity to discuss and debate the challenges of design.

Everyone said their sad farewells and all agreed that they felt enriched by the weeks experience and looked forward to repeating the course again in 2004.
