Recent Projects At KLC
This year, our full-time students undertook
a number of challenging and exciting projects.
These ranged from the Lowndes Hotel in Knightsbridge
through to a large riverside garden and from
Hampton Court Show Gardens to The Bridge Pub
and Dining Room (one of our students’
favourites!!!).
To give a flavour of what these projects
involve, here is one from the Interior Design
Diploma Course and one from the Garden Design
Diploma:-
EQUUS HAIR & BEAUTY
SALON
The Equus Hair & Beauty Salon in Knightsbridge
was a very realistic project with the client
wanting a fresh look for the interior space
and also a new and sophisticated concept -
style for the salon. As the students had all
previously completed an additional project
focusing and developing planning skills, the
commercial project allowed them to have the
opportunity to work more with colour, lighting,
plumbing, heath & safely and also decorative
detail which is very popular at the moment.

THE HARTWELL HOUSE
HOTEL
This project was based on the gardens of the
magnificent Hartwell House Hotel converted
from a stately home and set in ninety acres
of landscaped parkland. The students were
asked to present a design proposal for the
area known as the South Terrace and lawn and
to come up with a contemporary solution that
was in keeping with the hotel and its modern
day usage.
