Many people talk of having 'an eye for colour' but using colour successfully in interiors requires an understanding of the basic principles of colour theory and how to put them into practice.
This one day course takes an overview of the key considerations when planning a colour scheme from architectural style to functionality of the space. It looks at how colour can shape space and influence emotions; its interaction with light and texture; and its powerful effect on perception. It is the combination of all these aspects that makes colour one of the most exciting, and sometimes the most challenging, interior design subjects.
The syllabus includes:-
- Colour inspiration - and where to find it
- Power of colour - its effect on mood and perception
- Colour explained - what it is and how to use it
- Colour, light and texture
- Accessorising with colour
- Creating a colour palette
