Computer Aided Design VectorWorks
Rapidly becoming a must for the efficient running of a design practice, computer aided design enables the designer to work faster with greater flexibility and to make adjustments to plans and elevations easily. By offering a straightforward and easy to understand approach, KLC takes the anxiety out of what can be a daunting subject.
KLC is well established and highly regarded for the quality of its CAD tuition and uses VectorWorks, which is becoming the industry-standard software.
These courses takes a very practical approach to CAD learning. Students go through exercises designed to cover concepts and operations while working through real projects, from drafting a plan to the modelling of a house in 3D.

This course is open to applicants with basic technical drawing skills and computer literacy. The first day of the course provides a comprehensive tour through the fundamentals of CAD, so that delegates gain a thorough understanding of the principles and basic skills.
The subsequent days then lead students through all the stages of creating a layout of plans and elevations of a house with furniture. Basic drawing of lines and shapes right through to the visual styles to present the project will be covered.
DAY ONE (Foundation)
- Introduction to software and overview of CAD practice
- Interface, techniques and drawing tools
- Scales, units and standards
- Confidence and useful habits
