We are therefore able to offer two alternative study options to our open learning students:
Students can elect to undertake the traditional distance learning style of training, whereby they do not actually visit the college during their course of study. All work is completed from home and submitted by post. As already detailed, students are supported throughout their studies by receiving detailed assessment and feedback on their project work, as well as having access to help by telephone and email.
This does not, of course, preclude these students attending short courses or visiting our annual Exhibition of Students’ Work.
Alternatively, students can take up our one to one personal tutorials option, whereby their distance learning study is supported by tutorials at our design studios at Chelsea Harbour. These are one (or two) hour sessions with one of our tutors on a one-to-one basis, providing professional guidance on a student’s work.
Students find that this additional service can be a great support to their studies. Having a tutor take you through a particular section of the course can help give students a clear direction on how to go about the project work. This personal guidance can also provide students with extra motivation for their studies.
Students can choose to have as much or as little support as they like and the costs are as follows:
Please note the following important points:
Students can either choose from the list below or they can discuss any other coursework topics including preparation for project work:
